🪜 Levels of organization — smallest to biggest
Cell → Tissue → Organ → Organ System → Organism. A tissue is a team of similar cells; an organ is different tissues working together; a system is organs teaming up.

No system works alone. Every question is secretly asking: which systems team up, and how does the teamwork keep conditions stable (homeostasis)?

- Your blood is never blue — low-oxygen blood is dark red.
- Digestion isn’t finished in the stomach — the small intestine does most breakdown AND absorption.
- You breathe to deliver oxygen to CELLS for respiration — and to dump the CO₂ it makes.
- Nerves are fast, hormones are slow — but hormone effects last much longer.
- Reflexes skip the brain — they loop through the spinal cord.
🚚 Who delivers what
- Digestive: breaks food into nutrients the blood can carry.
- Respiratory: loads oxygen in, dumps carbon dioxide out.
- Circulatory: the delivery service — carries everything everywhere.
- Excretory: filters the blood and removes liquid waste (kidneys!).
- Nervous + endocrine: the managers — electric messages and chemical messages.
🎯 How the test will ask
- Expect a “trace the path” question: follow a bite of food, a breath, or a nerve signal in order.
- Exercise scenarios are THE systems-interacting question: heart up, breathing up, sweating — name the systems.
- “Maintain stable internal conditions” = homeostasis + at least two systems.
