Look at the pictures, not just the numbers. The color shows which fraction is bigger — and sometimes two different names cover the same amount.

A bigger bottom number means smaller pieces — that is the whole trick. When the pieces are the same size, count the tops; when they are not, let the picture decide.

Three pairs share a bottom number, two share a top number (the famous 1/3 vs 1/6 trap), two are equal pairs drawn with different cuts, and one is a benchmark compare against one half. Set 2 and Set 3 are the same eight skills with different numbers, so the same student can be probed three weeks running without being measured on memory.
