Where It Goes
Every number has one place on the line, and the line never lies about which numbers are bigger. Find zero, count the ticks, drop the pin.
No score is kept. No points, no streak, no ranking — the only number anyone writes down is the one your teacher writes down, standing next to you.
Show me one first
This one is nobody's problem — it is only here to show the moves before you touch yours. Watching it costs nothing and is written down nowhere.
Now problem 1 is yours. The hint button is there the whole time, and using it is part of the lesson.
Drag it, tap the line, or use the arrow keys.

There is no right answer here. It only tells your teacher where to start next time.
You placed all ten.
Notice what did not change: you found zero, you worked out what one tick was worth, and you counted. That is the same move on a ruler, a thermometer, a graph and a timeline — the line just gets a different name.
For the teacher — this device only
One probe row, built from what happened on this screen. Nothing is sent anywhere — copy it into the Goal Builder yourself, or print this page. Independent means placed with no hints; supported means placed after a hint. Both are real evidence and neither is a grade.

Set 2 and Set 3 are the same ten skills with different numbers, so the same student can be probed three weeks running without being measured on memory. Items 1–4 are integers, 5–6 tenths, 7–8 halves written as fractions, 9–10 opposites.
